The Arduino Uno R3 with Cable is a microcontroller board based on the ATmega328 (datasheet). It has 14 digital input/output pins (of which 6 can be used as PWM outputs); 6 analog inputs, a 16 MHz ceramic resonator, a USB connection, a power jack, an ICSP header, and a reset button.

It contains everything needed to support the microcontroller; simply connect it to a computer with a USB cable or power it with an AC-to-DC adapter or battery to get started.

Note: If you are getting the error while uploading the code in the Arduino Uno or not detecting the port need to upload the bootloader.

    For those having, Ubuntu or similar Linux distros where Arduino Uno is not detected via USB, the only option might be to use another Uno or Pi or external programmer to program this Arduino Uno using avrdude.
    And even after programming via external hardware using Raspberry Pi (with avrdude), Uno is still not detected on my Ubuntu OS. After doing a bunch of research online, I am convinced that the problem lies with the Ubuntu OS and not the hardware. At least I am able to program the hardware via Raspberry Pi.
