This is D1 Mini V2 NodeMcu 4M Bytes Lua WIFI Internet Of Things Development Board Based ESP8266, it is a mini WIFI board based on ESP-8266EX. 11 digital input/output pins, all pins have interrupt/PWM/I2C/one-wire supported(except D0) 1 analog input(3.3V max input) and a Micro USB connection.
The development board features WiFi-SoC ESP8266 and is made for fast Internet-of-Things (IoT) prototyping. It is flashed with the latest firmware version and can be set up and programmed right away with the onboard micro USB connection. The d1 mini is an ESP8266 development board that is compact, versatile and very easy to use with the Arduino IDE. It supports natively by the Expressive SDK.

Best ESP8266 based board which has in built USB support. Very easy to flash. So far I have tested this with ArduinoIDE as well as ESPHome. Connects very easily with WIFI and ESPHOME. Just make sure you buy with the correct LDO which has mentioned DE=A1D

This is a very good development board when you need more pins abut small form factor. It has more GPIO pins and USB connection to configure the board.

A low cost wifi module, super easy to use with Arduino support and plenty of examples. I would like to use this module for all my projects and also recommend new comers to use these modules as they are very cheap with huge 4MB program memory and powerful processor.
on the negative side i feel few more GPIO’s ADC would have been better, but you always can expand it with i2c Expanders.
