The Mini MP1584 DC-DC 3A Adjustable Buck module is ultra small adjustable 0.8V to 20V output DC to DC step-down Buck converter that uses an MP1584EN high frequency switching regulator and integrated high voltage power MOSFET.
It features a soft start, thermal shutdown, and under-voltage lockout (UVLO) to protect the module from operating at insufficient supply voltage.
Small size, lightweight, low internal power consumption, and wide input voltage range of 4.5V to 28V make this module suitable for a variety of different applications where small size and lightweight voltage conversion is needed, including RC cars and airplanes, quadcopters, robotics, Arduino modules, and DIY devices.
Applications:
- DIY 8051 / AVR / ARM / PIC / Arduino / Raspberry-Pi projects
- Robotics
- Breadboard power supply
- Manual speed adjustment of small DC motors
- Power Supply for RC project planes, cars, helicopters
- Universal Battery Elimination Circuit (UBEC) for 2S-6S lipo battery pack
- Receiver/servo power supply
- Communications equipment power supply
- Mobile equipment power supplies
Note: Set voltage using a voltmeter and adjust to proper output voltage before installing in your device.
Note: PCB board color may be different from the actual product.

I have tested this module from 12v to 5v buck conversion with output current upto 2A. The converter and Inductor itself temperature shoots up and gets hot however it still works fine. Ripple at 5v is 50mV which is not good however, at this cheap price if your application can allow, go for using it. Also, i see this part is NRND (not recommended for new design) so unless you plan for a product life cycle beyond 8-10yrs be careful to use it

An affordable Buck module but extremely fragile! The trimpot (Voltage Adjustment) on mine broke during voltage adjustment! One needs to be very careful while working with these! Else the module does what it says!
